Finding us and parking.

Address:

St Peter & St Paul's Church

Church Road

Black Notley

CM77 8LW

Parking:

  • Car parking is easy:  outside the church gates and along the green verge. Please be careful during wet weather! Then we recommend parking half on the road and half on the grass.

Follow the path through the gate and around to the right of the church. The porch is the main entrance and you will be able to access the church from there.

If you need the facilities please note there are no toilets in the church. The toilets are in the Florence Slater Room which is in the corner of the churchyard.

What to expect at Worship

A bit about the style of our Sunday morning worship services and what happens:

  • Services last about an hour.

  • You will be offered a printed order of service with all the words and prayers. There is a “pew sheet” in colour which has the readings for today. You will also be given a hymn book and, at some services, a psalter which is a book of psalms.

  • We have a choir which accompanies our services.

  • We are a musical church.   Music includes congregational hymns and parts of the liturgy accompanied by the organ. If the tune is unfamiliar to you, please do not feel anxious, but listen to the words and allow yourself to pray along if you feel led.

  • All the services include the Eucharist (or Holy Communion)  when we share bread and wine at the front of the church in remembrance of Jesus at the Last Supper.  We welcome all those who are baptised and know and love the Lord Jesus to receive his presence in the bread and wine. If you are somewhere else on your faith journey, you are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing – a personal prayer that God will be with you.

  • We receive the Eucharist at the altar rail, or if for any reason you need to receive in the pew, please let one of the welcomers know.

  • We prioritise the involvement of young people in our worship.  Young people are welcome to take Holy Communion after a preparation course and they regularly act as servers assisting service leaders.

  • There are no ‘special’ or reserved seats.  You can sit where you like.
